KATHRYN MOFFAT, CANDLEMAKER
Known to most as Kat, Kathryn Moffat of H&W Crafts is a self-taught candle maker and has been making candles, melts and diffusers for a few years. A graduate of The National College of Art and Design, Dublin (2012), she later went on to study holistic therapies (2017/18) in The College of Commerce, Cork.
Currently she is studying for a Licentiate degree in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland.
As part of her work and studies, Kathryn has taught herself a great deal about the power of scent and aromatherapy oils and she incorporates this knowledge into her craft. Kathryn’s lovely candles, melts and diffusers are all hand made in her home in Cork City.
Her materials, from wax, fragrance oils, essential oils and even her packaging are all ethically sourced to include where possible Fair Trade, ethical farming and environmentally friendly, compostable materials. She also makes it her mission to ensure she only works with companies which are environmentally conscious and try their best to have as little impact on the natural world.
